Forbes recently posted an article titled “The backlash to ‘the last jedi’ shows that Star Wars fans actually liked Luke Skywalker”. These are hardly news to fans, but this article wasn’t for us – and is therefore revealing of the mindset within the industry.
@AndreEinherjar will begin this editorial by going through the recent discoveries about Luke Skywalker’s popularity that Scott Mendelson deemed it necessary to share with his peers in the industry, before getting into the more important topic of why there was need for this article in the first place. To this end, he will go through the concepts of cognitive dissonance, and the dangers echo chambers.
